Philadelphia Soul News Release

BROAD STREET BRAWL GOES TO SOUL

Matt D'Orazio ran for two touchdowns and threw for six more as the undefeated Philadelphia Soul chalked up their ninth victory, 57-28, over the Dallas Desperados Monday night before a raucous crowd of 15,426 at the Wachovia Spectrum. D'Orazio completed 20-of-29 passes for 194 yards with one interception for the Soul, who continued their best start to a season and longest winning streak in franchise history. Larry Brackins hauled in seven catches for 77 yards with three TDs for Philly, which also equaled the franchises record for wins in a season with nine.

CJ MOVES CLOSER TO 300

Soul WR Chris Jackson caught seven passes for 83 yards and a touchdown in the win, moving one TD catch closer to 300 for his career. Jackson, who has 299 career TD catches, already surpassed some major milestones this season by recording over 12,000 career receiving yards and over 900 catches. One more catch and he will be the third player all-time to hit the milestone.

E-MO-TION

Eddie Moten was named the AFL's ADT Defensive Player of the Week for his three-interception performance against the Desperados. Moten entered the game with just one interception this season, but equaled the franchise record he previously set for interceptions in a contest. Moten also picked off three passes in a game on May 5, 2006 against Dallas.

NEXT UP...

The Soul have a short week to prepare for their next game, as they will travel to face the Cleveland Gladiators on Friday, May 2 at 7 p.m. The game will not be televised, but can heard live on 950 ESPN Philadelphia and on the Internet at www.950ESPN.com.

TOUGH STRETCH

The undefeated Soul improved to 3-0 during a stretch in which the team plays four of five on the road. Philly began the stretch with a win in San Jose in Week 7 and continued the streak with the win in Columbus before beating Dallas in Week 9. The stretch ends with games in Cleveland and Georgia.
