Colorado Crush News Release

DENVER, Colo. - The Colorado Crush and the Denver chapter of the Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization are teaming up to "Walk to Empower" this Mother's Day.

The three-mile non-competitive walk will help raise funds for the Y-ME Organization's numerous free programs and services, which are provided to anyone who has been touched by breast cancer. Crush players will be raising money and accepting donations to walk on May 11, starting at 9 a.m.

The Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization, for nearly 30 years, has been a premier resource for breast cancer and breast health information, peer support and empowerment. Y-ME has the only 24/7 hotline staffed by trained peer counselors who are breast cancer survivors and takes more than 40,000 calls a year.

"We are very excited to get involved with an organization like this," Crush offensive lineman Kyle Moore-Brown said. "Breast cancer does not only affect women but men as well, and we are pleased to donate money and our time for this walk to help raise awareness."

The Rocky Mountain Affiliate was founded in 2003 to serve women and men in Colorado whose worlds have turned upside down because of breast cancer. It offers support groups for individuals touched by breast cancer throughout Colorado including the Denver metro area, Fort Collins, Boulder, Longmont, and Colorado Springs.
