Philadelphia 'Soul Train' Leaves the Station

Members of the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League will tour Philadelphia on the first "Soul Train Tour" of the year.

Offensive/defensive linemen Corey Mayfield and Dwayne Missouri, quarterbacks Nick Browder and Todd Hammel, and wide receiver/defensive back Van Johnson, a Temple University graduate, along with head coach Michael Trigg will host the first annual "Meet the Soul" Night at Dave and Buster's on Columbus Blvd., Thursday, November 13 from 5-8 p.m. Fans will have an opportunity to meet the original members of the Philadelphia Soul and take pictures, get autographs or play video games with the team.

"Meet the Soul Night" will conclude a week of appearances for the Soul throughout the city. Players will begin their week at the Metroplex Target in Plymouth Meeting where team co-owner Jon Bon Jovi will be participating in an in-store signing for his band's new CD: "This Left Feels Right" at 2 p.m.

The players will appear Wednesday, November 12 at the Northern Home for Children and Family Services from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to help paint the outside of the agency to improve the facility for the children living inside.

Players will also appear Wednesday with the Police Athletic League from 4:30-6 p.m. to tell the kids about the Arena Football League while playing interactive games. The players will also appear with the Muscular Dystrophy Association at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday to kick off their Muscle Team 2004 event.

The following day, the Soul will visit Isaac Sheppard School at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 13 to speak to their students. After the visit to the school, they will be going to Philabundance to help sort food from a local food drive from 12 to 2 p.m. before Meet the Soul Night at Dave and Buster's.

The Philadelphia Soul will kick off their inaugural season against the New Orleans Voodoo this February 8th on NBC Sports. Season ticket plans are on sale now and can be purchased for as low as $80. For more information on season tickets call 1-888-PHIL-AFL.
