Phantoms Announce Promotional Schedule and Ticket Sales

YOUNGSTOWN - The 2016-17 Phantoms season is less than 20 days away and the team is excited to announce single-game tickets are now on sale and the schedule features some new promotions, as well as some of our fan favorites.

The season will kick-off with the Home Opener and retirement of our beloved mascot Sparky (official statement attached ). Sparky the Purple Dragon has spent seven years entertaining our fans, pumping up our players, and making his rounds at community events and school visits. We invite all Sparky fans to join us on October 7 to wish him farewell and thank him for his time in Youngstown. Sparky's cousin will be introduced at Sci-Fi/Fantasy Night on October 22.

October is also the month of our Pink in the Rink game supporting the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center. Come out two days before the game for the Paint the Ice Party on Wednesday, October 26. The public is encouraged to join the fun in painting the ice with messages of survival, encouragement, memories, and honor for those in their lives affected by cancer.

In addition to a great start to the season, the Phantoms are proud to bring back Pittsburgh Penguins Night, Military Appreciation Night, Phantoms Phight Hunger, Hometown Heroes, Scout Night and Akron Children's Hospital Night. Some of our new promotional nights include: Sci-Fi/Fantasy Night, New Year's Eve Celebration, Mascot Madness, Meatball Mania and Battle of the Bands.

Friday, October 7 Home Opener and Sparky Farewell Party

Kick-off the season with us and wish Sparky a happy retirement. Magnet Schedule Giveaway.

Saturday, October 8 Mock Election Night

Not sure who to vote for this November? No worries, we'll have a mock ballot ready for you and some great candidate speeches to help make up your mind. Stay after the game to get your ballot signed by the team!

Friday, October 21 Free Kid Friday

All kids ages 12 and under get in free with purchase of adult ticket.

Saturday, October 22 Sci-Fi/Fantasy Night and New Mascot Reveal

Join us for a night of family-friendly cosplay. Special appearances by some of your favorite sci-fi characters. Plus, don't miss the reveal of our new Phantoms Mascot!

Friday, October 28 Pink in the Rink

Join the team in raising funds for the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center and shedding light on the importance of early detection. Game features specialty jersey auction post-game.

Sunday, October 30 Phantom Phest with Trick or Treat

The Phantoms Booster Club will be hosting a variety of fall activities for Phantom Phest, and if you dress up in your Halloween best there will be some tricks and treats in store for you!

Friday, November 11 Fear The Phantoms, Not the Finger

Phantoms team up with Mercy Health to support Man Up Mahoning Valley for Movember! Foam Finger Giveaway. As the game falls on Veteran's Day, there will also be a poppy giveaway and Veterans will get in free.

Saturday, November 12 Phantoms Phight Hunger

Join us as we partner with Project Feed Our Valley and support Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley! Remember $1 5 meals. Player-Signed Hunger Action Month T-Shirt Raffle.

Friday, December 2 College Night/Ugly Sweater Party

Take advantage of the 2 for $10 student ticket deal and wear your ugliest holiday sweater. Game also features happy hour specials during pre-game. Plus, post-game autograph session with players.

Thursday, December 8 School Day Game

It's the annual school day game when the team welcomes students and educators from all over the Mahoning Valley. Each student receives a School Day bag filled with the Hockey for Health Get Schooled Book and more!

The Phantoms are proud to partner with Covelli Enterprises to support our local veterans and active duty military personnel and their families. Specialty jersey auction and portion of game proceeds benefit local Disabled American Veteran Chapters.

Friday, February 24 Local Business Night

A great night presented by PNC Bank! Fans have the opportunity to meet local business owners and learn about their offerings. Swing by each business table for specials and giveaways.

Saturday, February 25 Mascot Madness

Local and regional mascots will take over the ice and arena to compete in friendly mascot games, plus take some time for photo ops with our fans. Bring your skates for a post-game skate with the team and Sparky.

Friday, March 3 Youth Hockey Night

Help us recognize our youth hockey players in Youngstown and surrounding areas.

Saturday, March 4 Scout Night

Calling all scout troops! Bring your girl and boy scouts to this game to earn a patch and the chance to participate in on-ice entertainment. Scouts can stick around to meet players during a post-game autograph session.

Area high schools will compete from the stands and on the ice for the title of Phantoms favorite band.

Saturday, April 1 Hometown Heroes

A salute to our local police and fire departments, as well as all first responders who help keep our communities safe. Join the team in giving thanks for the men and women who are local heroes.

April 7 & 8 Fan Appreciation Weekend

Celebrate the end of the season with two fan appreciation games! Great giveaways and full-team autograph session.
