Petes OHL Championship Celebration Event to Take Place on Monday Afternoon at Quaker Foods City Square

(Peterborough, ON) - The Peterborough Petes announced today that a team celebration event will take place on Monday, May 22 at Quaker Foods City Square from 3-6 p.m. The event is being organized to celebrate the Petes winning their 10th J. Ross Robertson Cup as OHL Champions, and to cheer them on as they prepare to head to Kamloops, BC for the 2023 Memorial Cup presented by Kia.
The event will feature new highlight videos, remarks from dignitaries, players, staff, and executives, official championship merchandise, face painting, and opportunities for food and refreshments from local vendors. An official championship photo of the entire Petes team and community members present will be organized, so fans are encouraged to wear maroon and white for the momentous occasion.
The event is free, and fans are encouraged to bring their own chairs (or stand). Parking will be extremely limited at area street parking, municipal garages and lots. The formal program will begin at 3:45 p.m. Large crowds are anticipated, and fans are asked to comply with all City bylaws and follow the direction of on-site officials.
Petes championship hats and shirts are on sale now through the Petes Store. Fans can purchase theirs now.
The Petes are back in action for their first Memorial Cup game on Saturday, May 27 at the Sandman Centre in Kamloops, BC. The game will be against the WHL Champion with puck drop scheduled at 8:00 p.m. EDT. Fans can catch the games on OHL Live, TSN, Freq 90.5, Oldies 96.7, and Classic Rock 107.9.
