Peter Fields To Hold Workout With Miami Dolphins On Thursday, August 20

ODESSA, TX. : The Odessa Roughnecks are excited to announce that former offensive linemen, Peter Fields, has landed a workout with the Miami Dolphins (NFL) set for Thursday, August 20. The Miami Dolphins will be sending representatives to West Texas for the workout however the time and location are yet to be determined.

Additionally, the Roughnecks announced that Fields workout with the Green Bay Packers (NFL), originally set for August 11, has been changed to Saturday, August 29. As stated before in regards to the Dolphins workout, the time and location for the Green Bay Packers workout is yet to be determined. Currently both the Packers and Dolphins are in the middle of training camp as the Dolphins are coming off a 12-9 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in their preseason opener back on August 17, and the Packers are coming off a win over the Cleveland Browns (17-0) in their first preseason game back on Saturday, August 15. Both teams hold their next preseason game on Saturday, August 22 as the Packers host the Buffalo Bills and the Dolphins hosting the Carolina Panthers.

The Great Britain native was scouted by the Odessa Roughnecks at the John Lestini Group Free Agent Tryout held in Mobile, Alabama during Senior Bowl Week in January of 2008. In his first season with the Odessa Roughnecks in 2008 Fields played in 14 games total (12 regular, two post-season). During that time he supplied protection for starting QB Dennis Gile, registered four total tackles including 1.0 TFL on defense and caught a six-yard touchdown pass on offense. Fields capped off his first season with Odessa by being named to the IFL (Intense) All-Star Team.

In 2009, Fields played and started in 11 games for the Roughnecks on the offensive line. Through out the season Fields provided protection in the passing game and opened up holes for the running game. Defensively, Fields registered 2.5 total tackles including 1.5 TFL. Fields played his college ball at European National.
