Penultimate Match of 2018 Tonight
October 3, 2018 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
OKC Energy FC News Release
Energy FC look for the season sweep over Real Monarchs SLC, after OKC beat SLC 3-2 on August 11 at Taft Stadium. That night, Christian Volesky recorded the fastest goal in Energy FC history after just 25 seconds before Alex Dixon put OKC ahead by two before the break. SLC battled back to level the score in the second half before second-half substitute Monty Patterson scored the game winner in the 83rd minute.
Energy FC leads the all-time series 4-2-0, but have never defeated the Monarchs away from home.
After setting a club record with 11 saves against Las Vegas, goalkeeper Cody Laurendi was selected to the USL's Team of the Week. One of those saves is also nominated for USL's Save of the Week. This is the fifth time an Energy player has been named to the team of the week (Jaime Siaj, Alex Dixon x2, Jose Barril).
Following tonight's match, the team has a bit of a break before finishing the season away to Saint Louis FC on Saturday, October 13.
