Pensacola, Fla. - The Jackson Generals, the Double-A affiliate of Major League Baseball's Arizona Diamondbacks, let a win escape their grasp on Monday, as the Pensacola Blue Wahoos rallied for a 4-2 victory at Admiral Fetterman Field. The series between Jackson (75-56) and Pensacola (73-60) is now tied, forcing the Generals' fifth rubber match of the year on Tuesday.

Jackson's first and only breakthrough came in the second inning, when Pensacola starter Adam Bray struggled with his command. Seth Beer led off with a double, followed by a walk from Drew Ellis and a wild pitch that allowed both men to move up. L.T. Tolbert then lined a single off Bray that deflected into right field, allowing Beer to score the game's first run. Two batters later, Ellis would come home on a sacrifice fly to right field by Mark Karaviotis to make the lead 2-0. Thereafter, the Generals failed to score over the final seven frames of the game, finishing with just five hits the rest of the way. Tolbert and Ramon Hernandez each had multi-hit games for the visitors.

Starter Jeff Bain remained without an official decision with the Generals, throwing five innings while allowing just one run. Jayson McKinley added his first hold with two innings of scoreless work, but things got away from Jackson in the eighth, when Matt Brill (2-5, 6.54 ERA) allowed three runs (one earned) on a lone Pensacola hit. Brill hit two batters with a pitch and was also hampered by a Jackson error in the infield, eventually leading to the tying and go-ahead runs for the Blue Wahoos. The loss sets the Generals back to 24-42 when the opposing team scores at least four runs, and 8-28 when securing fewer than two extra-base hits. Jackson has the opportunity to split the season series with the Wahoos on Tuesday with a series finale victory.
