Peninsula Pilots Get Shut-Out against Martinsville Mustangs
June 22, 2018 - Coastal Plain League (Coastal Plain)
Peninsula Pilots News Release
On a rainy night in Hampton, VA the Peninsula Pilots defeated the Martinsville Mustangs 3-0. With this win, the Pilots advance to 11-5 on the season.
The pitching staff is what got the job done for the Pilots this evening as Christian Ryder, Hunter Martin and Aaron Winkler all had stellar performances on the mound. Winkler struck out the side in the top of the eighth and through the pouring rain managed to get a pop out in the top of the ninth to complete the shut out game.
The Pilots will be back on the diamond tomorrow as they take on the Edenton Steamers away, and Saturday they are back at War Memorial Stadium for daddy-daughter night as we take on the Wilson Tobs. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m., come join the princesses and players for a night of fun at the ball park.
