
Peninsula Pilots Players Show out at All-Star Game

The Coastal Plain All-Star Show was held this weekend in Lexington, South Carolina and the Peninsula Pilots had four players participating in the festivities. Jonathan Embry, Cole Prestegard, Dominic Toso and Tyler Adams were a part of the American team during the All-Star Show.
On Sunday July 8 was the fan fest portion of the All-Star game. Players met fans while signing autographs and taking pictures. After, there was a skills challenge in which players from both the American and National teams participated in a series of competitions to get points for their teams. The Pilots' Jonathan Embry was up first in the bunt challenged and tried to lay down a series of hunts onto targets that were placed on the first and third base lines. The next Pilot up was Tyler Adams who participated in the hitting challenge where he hit a number of baseballs off a tee and was aiming for four different targets in the outfield.
The All-Star game was held on Monday July 9 and two Pilots players started. Jonathan Embry was behind the plate and Cole Prestegard started at first base. The Pilots starters brought their A-game as they earned all four runs that the American team racked up that night. Jonathan Embry started things off with a two-run homer out far past right field. Next, Cole Prestegard hit a two RBI double to score the next two runs for the American side. Half-way through the game Dominic Toso comes in as designated hitter and Tyler Adams takes over at shortstop.
The American team ended up losing to the National team 9-4, but the Pilots players made their names known at the 2018 All-Star Show. To see these All-Star's play in person come to War Memorial Stadium Thursday, July 12 for their next home game with first pitch at 7:05 p.m.
