
Penguins open training camp tomorrow at Wachovia Arena

WILKES-BARRE, PA â The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will open their sixth training camp tomorrow morning at Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza. A total of 49 players will report to camp on Saturday for a team meeting and physicals.
Head coach Michel Therrien and assistant coach Mike Yeo will conduct on-ice instruction for the first time on Sunday, September 26th. Practice will be divided into two groups, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza. All practices held at the Arena are closed to the public.
However, fans can attend the team's first-ever âBlack-and-White Game' next Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Wachovia Arena. Tickets for the event cost just $5, with all proceeds benefiting âTherrien's Tickets for Tots' program.
Thursday's game will consist of three 20-minute periods with AHL referees and linesmen officiating the game. Fans can purchase their tickets at the Wachovia Arena Box Office on the day of the game. All seating will be general admission and gates will open at 1:00 PM.
The Penguins open the preseason schedule in Syracuse on Friday, October 1 vs. the Crunch (7:30 p.m. start).
