Edinburg Roadrunners News Release
The Edinburg offense was left stagnant yet again as the Roadrunners managed to get just one first inning run and could not keep up with the Pensacola Pelicans in the late innings as they dropped game two of the current four game series 9-1 at Pelican Park Saturday night.
Edinburg's only run in the first came on a strange RBI single on a ball that just landed fair down the right field line off the bat of Eddie Lara that scored Anthony Angel all the way from first base.
Edinburg wasted a strong effort from rookie starter Kevin Hull who took the loss for Edinburg. Hull (2-2), threw six innings and gave up three earned runs while striking out four.
Gerardo Casadiego pitched his strongest outing of the year allowing just one earned run in seven innings and struck out eight Roadrunners. Casadiego (2-3) earned the victory after taking a loss to Edinburg at Edinburg Baseball Stadium on May 30th
Edinburg will send their ace Pedro Flores (4-1 3.29 ERA) to the hill on Sunday and will face off against Shane Arthurs (0-0 2.76 ERA) of the Pensacola Pelicans in a 6:05 start at Pelican Park.
