Pee Dee Cyclones and Florence Civic Center Agree to Lease Extension

March 20, 2006 - SPHL (SPHL)
Twin City Cyclones News Release

Pee Dee Cyclones principal owner Bob Kerzner today announced that the Cyclones have reached an agreement with the Florence Civic Center on a one-year lease extension. The extension means that the Cyclones will return for a second season in the Southern Professional Hockey League for the upcoming 2006/07 campaign. Terms of the new lease agreement were not announced.

"We wish to thank the Civic Center Commission and SMG for their efforts in moving things along so quickly", said Bob Kerzner. "It was important for both parties to get an agreement in place so that we can get an early jump on both season ticket and corporate sponsorship sales for next season. Last year, unfortunately, the Cyclones organization really couldn't hit the streets until late June so this gives us almost a three-month head start for the 2006/07 hockey season."

Kendall Wall of SMG said "We look forward to working with the new ownership group of Bob Kerzner & Tommy Jones. It was important for both parties to reach an agreement prior to the playoffs to provide the team with ample time to improve attendance for next season."
