Patterson Named Bank of America El Player of The Week

Manchester, NH-New Hampshire Fisher Cats outfielder Ryan Patterson has been named the Bank of America Eastern League Player of the Week for the week ending June 1. Patterson, 25, batted .448 (13-for-29) with one double, five home runs, 10 RBI, eight runs scored, four walks and a 1.000 slugging percentage.

Patterson reached base nine consecutive times during a two-game stretch on Friday and Saturday against the Portland Sea Dogs. The 5'11'', 205-pound outfielder is 11-for-13 with three home runs, eight RBI and five runs in the first three games of the Fisher Cats' current four-game series with the Sea Dogs, raising his batting average from .257 to .297

Patterson is batting .297 with eight home runs and 28 RBI in 50 games. The Dallas, TX native ranks first in the Eastern League in extra-base hits (26) and second in doubles (18). His eight home runs are tied with Travis Snider for the team lead, and his .516 slugging percentage leads the club. Patterson, who hit .267 with 18 home runs and 68 RBI last season for New Hampshire, was drafted by Toronto in the fourth round of the 2005 draft out of Louisiana State University.

The last Fisher Cat to be honored as Player of the Week was outfielder Dustin Majewski last season for the week ending August 26th.
