Fayetteville Patriots News Release

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Tang Hamilton led all scorers and had a tremendous night for the Patriots with 24 points and 12 rebounds, which gave Fayetteville the boost they needed to put out the Flame, 86-74, on Saturday night. The roles were reversed as the Patriots bounced back from their defeat last night and shot past the Flame in the first half, 56-31. The Patriots were also given an extra spark from the lively audience that came to celebrate Military Appreciation Night and the Philadelphia 76'ers mascot Hip Hop at Crown Coliseum.

"The difference in the game tonight and last night's is the way we came out," Head Coach Mike Brown said. "We came out with a lot of energy and intensity, and we didn't allow them to do whatever they wanted to do."

Kirk Haston and Hiram Fuller fought hard for the Flame. Haston contributed 17 points and six rebounds, while Hiram Fuller provided a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Florida also had two other players in double figures off the bench with Kendall Dartez having 13 points and Carl English obtaining 12.

The Patriots were also led by Mike King and Ernest Brown, who contributed 17 and 14 points respectively. Omar Cook finished one point short of another double-double with nine points and 10 assists. Jon Smith also contributed 10 points and seven rebounds off the bench.

Fayetteville (8-19) will be battling Roanoke next Saturday at home. Game time is 7:30 p.m. For more information, log onto nbdl.com.
