Patrick Rissmiller, second on the Barons all-time points list, returns to Cleveland

CLEVELAND - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has assigned eight players from the 2005-06 San Jose Sharks Training Camp to the Cleveland Barons, including six from last year's roster: forwards Patrick Rissmiller, Josh Prudden, Craig Valette, Glenn Olson, Jonathan Tremblay and defenseman Tim Conboy. San Jose also sent forward Tom Cavanagh and defenseman Brad Staubitz to Cleveland.

Completing his third season in Cleveland, Rissmiller ended the 2004-05 season listed second on the Barons franchise list in goals (49), assists (80), points (129), and games played (216). The Holy Cross University product ranked second on the Barons with 22 points on the power play (8-14-22). His 22 goals and eight power play goals also were second on the club and his 44 points were third.

Prudden led the Barons and finished fourth among AHL rookies with five game-winning goals throughout the course of the season. He also led all Barons rookies and tied for fifth overall in goals with 14. Those 14 goals tied for 12th among all league rookies. He amassed 22 points (14-8-22) in 73 games for the Barons, tying him for second among Barons rookies and 36th among all league rookies.

Conboy finished his rookie season with four goals and 11 assists in 61 games. Over the course of the season, he accrued 15 points (4-11-15) and 134 penalty minutes. His 15 points ranked him fifth among Barons defenseman.

In 79 games played, Valette contributed 12 points (6-6-12) and earned 94 penalty minutes.

The Barons will open their 2005-06 Regular Season schedule on the National City Rink located in Gund Arena on Saturday, October 8th against the Rochester Americans at 7:05pm.
