Charleston Battery News Release
CHARLESTON, S.C. - Five members of the Charleston Battery have been selected to represent their countries during the current March FIFA international window.
AJ Paterson and Benji Ettienne (Grenada) and Leland Archer (Trinidad and Tobago) will feature in the Concacaf Nations League, and Deklan Wynne and Jesse Randall (New Zealand) have a pair of friendlies against China.
The Battery's five internationals are the most of any USL Championship club during the window. The Black and Yellow will be represented in both the Caribbean and Oceania.
AJ Paterson (19 caps/4 goals) and Benji Ettienne (11 caps) return to Grenada to host the U.S. Men's National Team on Fri., March 24, in the Spice Boys' final match of the Concacaf Nations League group stage. The game starts at 8 p.m. ET at Kirani James Athletic Stadium in St. George's and will be broadcasted on TNT, Universo and Peacock.
Leland Archer (2 caps) is back with Trinidad and Tobago after earning his second cap with the senior national team last January, a 2-0 victory over Saint Martin. The Soca Warriors are vying to win their group and punch their ticket to the 2023 Gold Cup with games against the Bahamas (Fri., March 24, 4 p.m. ET) and group leaders Nicaragua (Mon., March 27, 8 p.m.). Both games will stream on Paramount+.
Deklan Wynne (15 caps) and newly-signed Jesse Randall (6 caps, 1 goal with U-17s) will represent New Zealand at the senior level and U-23 level, respectively. The All Whites are set to face China twice, once in Auckland (Thurs., March 23, 2 a.m. ET) and again in Wellington (Sat., March 25, 11 p.m. ET). The U-23 games will take place at 10:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively, right before the senior team and can be streamed via the New Zealand federation's YouTube channel.
All five players will be set to return to the club in time for the next match on Tues., April 4, against Savannah Clovers FC at Patriots Point in the Second Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Tickets for the game are just $10 across all seat levels and are on sale now via SeatGeek.com, the Battery's exclusive digital ticketing provider.
