SAN ANTONIO, TX - Ryan Sanders Baseball is proud to announce the return of post-game concerts following both games of H-E-B Big League Weekend 2016: Pat Green and The Spazmatics. H-E-B, the title sponsor of Big League Weekend, is one of the presenting sponsors of both post-game concerts along with Pepsi.
"The post-game concerts have become a staple of the weekend," said J.J. Gottsch, H-E-B Big League Weekend Executive Director. "It's a great opportunity for fans to come down on the playing field, let their kids run around the outfield and listen to some great music."
Friday, March 18, Grammy nominee Pat Green takes the stage immediately following the evening game. The Texas Country pioneer has released six albums in eight years, sending singles like "Wave on Wave" and "Let Me" flying up the charts. His newest album, "Home," was released earlier this year featuring a set of original songs in a mature country sound that is both modern and true to his Texas music roots.
The Spazmatics, the Ultimate New Wave 80s Show, take the stage after the game on Saturday, March 19. Bringing a high-energy show to the Alamodome, The Spazmatics play classic 80s sing-a-long hits guaranteed to get the crowd moving.
Kings of the Diamond Dinner
In addition to the jam-packed weekend, the schedule of events includes the third annual "Kings of the Diamond" dinner-featuring Hall of Fame legends Nolan Ryan and George Brett-taking place on Thursday, March 17 (6PM), at the Hyatt Regency San Antonio Riverwalk. The event will benefit the Nolan Ryan Foundation and San Antonio charities. Nolan Ryan is the only player to have his jersey retired by three different teams! Inducted in the 1999 Baseball Hall of Fame Class with Ryan, 13-time All-Star George Brett spent his entire professional career with the Kansas City Royals.
