Lowell Spinners News Release

LOWELL, MASS. - On the eve of the 2014 season, The Lowell Spinners, Class A affiliate of the World Series Champion Boston Red Sox, released a parking advisory for all fans planning on attending a LeLacheur Park event this summer.

With the help of the City of Lowell, an additional 300 street parking spots have been created over the last calendar year through the narrowing of Father Morrissette Boulevard and addition of parking meters lining the road.

"We are thrilled to be able to offer our fans more parking options when attending Spinners' games," said Spinners President and General Manager Tim Bawmann. "The street parking options are all just a short walk from LeLacheur and will offer an easy exit for fans leaving the stadium."

The metered spots will be just $1 per hour and surround the ballpark starting at Father Morrisette Boulevard and moving inward toward the ballpark.

Parking will also remain available at the UMass Lowell Garage, controlled by the university, and the privately owned Notini Lot next to Lowell Beer Works, where each entity charges a fee of $6 per vehicle.

One change from year's prior is the Perkins Street Parking lot will no longer be available for game day parking. In addition, the Spinners have hired parking greeters and coordinators to help expedite the parking experience and get the fans to their seats quicker and hassle-free.

"We recognize parking at any major event can often create issues," said Bawmann. "We look forward to alleviating these issues with our new parking greeters and coordinators and create an enjoyable Spinners experience from the minute you arrive in Lowell to the point where you return to your vehicle to head home."

The Spinners begin the 2014 season, presented by Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union, Friday night at LeLacheur Park when they take on the Vermont Lake Monsters. Standing Room tickets remain available for the 7:05 first pitch and can be ordered by calling (978) 459-1702.
