Tigers Release 2014 Promotional Schedule

NORWICH, CT- The Connecticut Tigers proudly unveil their 2014 promotional schedule. The schedule is highlighted by the celebration of the 20th season of baseball at Dodd Stadium, nine total firework shows and thirteen different giveaway dates. The Tigers' 2014 home schedule begins with Opening Night at Dodd Stadium on Wednesday, June 18th against the Lowell Spinners (Red Sox affiliate) with a magnet schedule giveaway for the first 4,000 fans presented by Dime Bank and fireworks after the game presented by US Foods.

In addition to Opening Night, there will be fireworks after every Friday home game, Saturday, July 5th, and Monday, September 1st, all presented by US Foods.

Returning in 2014 is the fan-favorite "Hometown Heroes" bobblehead series. It kicks off on Saturday, July 5th with New London, CT native and current Detroit Tigers outfielder Rajai Davis presented by Navy Federal Credit Union. The series continues with the original Dodd Stadium mascot Tater the Gator presented by YP on Saturday, August 9th and concludes with 2011 CT Tigers and current Detroit Tigers shortstop Eugenio Suarez presented by YP.

Additional giveaway items include a CT Tigers coffee mug presented by Randall Realtors: Judi McEwan on Saturday, June 28th, a Tigers hat piggy bank presented by the CT Department of Transportation on Saturday, July 12th, a CT Tigers hat presented by Backus and Windham Hospitals on Saturday August 16th, and a 2014 CT Tigers team photo presented by CHET on Monday, September 1st.

In addition to Friday Fireworks, other great daily promotions include "Kids Eat Free" every Monday presented by US Foods and The Day, "Dollar Dogs" presented by Kayem every Tuesday, "Tuesday Night Senior Night" presented by PierceCare, the "Wednesday Family Four Pack" (four reserved tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas, and a bag of popcorn all for just $40), giveaways every Saturday, and "Sunday Funday" featuring "Kids Run the Bases" presented by Ben & Jerry's and "Have A Catch" presented by ROXY FM 100.9 and Falvey's post-game.

2014 marks the 20th season of Minor League Baseball at Dodd Stadium.

The 20 Seasons Celebration kicks off on Thursday, July 10th and will span twenty nights, culminating with the annual Norwich Navigators Night on Friday, August 22nd. The Tigers will play as the Norwich Navigators for just one night. The 20 Seasons Celebration will also entail a special Legends Card Series. The series features a baseball card of sixteen of the best players to ever play at Dodd Stadium and will be broken into four separate giveaways of four cards each on Sunday, July 13th & 27th and Sunday, August 10th and 17th. Fans are encouraged to attend all four dates to collect the full set.

The Tigers will celebrate America with "Fourth of July Weekend" presented by Navy Federal Credit Union. In addition to fireworks after the game on July 4th and 5th and the Rajai Davis bobblehead giveaway on July 5th, there will be a special pre-game patriotic concert put on by the U.S. Coast Guard Band on Friday, July 4th from 5:15-6:15 p.m. The first 500 fans through the gates that night will also receive a free slice of apple pie.

The annual Military Appreciation Night will take place on Friday, August 8th and will once again be presented by the Better Business Bureau Military Line.

The first 1,000 fans will receive a commemorative CT Military All-Stars baseball card set presented by the Better Business Bureau.

The Connecticut Tigers are the New York-Penn League affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and play a 76 game schedule that runs from mid June through early September. The 2014 home schedule begins Wednesday, June 18th against the Lowell Spinners (Red Sox affiliate) with fireworks after the game! 2014 season tickets, mini plans, individual game tickets, and team merchandise are now on sale!
