Jammers Set to Open Season Against Mahoning Valley

Jamestown, NY- The Jamestown Jammers 2014 season will begin tomorrow night at 7:05 at the historic Diethrick Park. The opponent will be the Mahoning Valley Scrappers. The 4-game series will run Friday-Monday. After the game Friday, there will be a spectacular fireworks show to celebrate Opening Night. Saturday, will be the first ever "Touch a Truck" event in Chautauqua County presented by the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce. Sunday afternoon at 4:05, the Jammers will be holding their "Father's Day Bash," and Monday at 11:05am will be School Day. Players to Watch (Jamestown)

Mike Fransoso (Infielder): Back in Jamestown for second season. New York-Penn League All-Star in 2013. Last season, played in 67 games, had 57 hits, and 25 RBIs. Drafted in 2013 out of the University of Maine.

Taylor Gushue (Catcher): Just drafted in the 4th round out of the University of Florida. In 62 games for the for the Gators this season, hit .320, with 6 home runs, and 49 RBIs (which led the team).

Tyler Eppler (Pitcher): 6th round draft pick in 2014 out of Sam Houston St. In 16 appearances for Sam Houston St. this season, went 9-6 with a 3.20 ERA. Also had 67 strikeouts in 109 2/3 innings pitched.
