Parekh Sits Tenth in NHL Central Scouting's Midseason Rankings

Toronto, Ont. - The Ontario Hockey League is proud to announce that 53 OHL players have been included on NHL Central Scouting's October 'Players to Watch' List for the 2024 NHL Draft scheduled to take place June 28-29 at the Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The list includes a total of nine OHL skaters included in the top-32 North American prospects, indicating a potential first round selection. A pair of defencemen lead the way in Sam Dickinson of the London Knights and Zayne Parekh of the Saginaw Spirit at seventh and 10th respectively, followed by the OHL's highest-ranked forward in Liam Greentree of the Windsor Spitfires at 12. In goal, Carter George of the Owen Sound Attack is the top-ranked North American netminder followed closely by Ryerson Leenders of the Mississauga Steelheads coming in at third.

Nineteen OHL member teams are represented on the list, led by the Mississauga Steelheads with seven players, followed by the Windsor Spitfires with five, along with the Guelph Storm and Kingston Frontenacs, each trailing with four players included.

The list includes 33 OHL forwards, 15 defencemen and five goaltenders.

Of the 53 players listed, 18 are competing in the 2024 Kubota CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game set for Wednesday, January 24 in Moncton, New Brunswick. The game can be seen live from coast-to-coast on TSN.
