PAPPAS' SINGLE COMPLETES SUSSEX COMEBACK

AUGUSTA, N.J. - Mark Pappas snuck a single up the middle through an infield of five defenders to drive in Jorge Moreno from third with no outs in the bottom of the ninth to give Sussex a 4-3 come-from-behind victory over New Hampshire on Friday night at Skylands Park.

Jorge Moreno led off the bottom of the inning with a hustle-double to center. Moreno moved to third on a passed ball, leading to an intentional walk to Jeremy Hunt. New Hampshire then brought an outfielder to play on the shortstop side of the infield with nobody out and the winning run on third, but Pappas' seeing-eye base hit snuck into center to win it for the Skyhawks.

Greg Lane threw four innings of scoreless relief to pick up the win. Lane gave up just one hit, while striking out one. Luis Ramos took the loss for New Hampshire.

Angel Molina blasted a three run home run in the top of the fifth to put New Hampshire ahead, 3-1. But Sussex's Chris Brown answered with a two out, two-run single in the bottom of the eighth to tie the game, 3-3.

Molina finished the night 3-for-4 with a double to go along with his home run. Maikel Jova was 3-for-4 with two runs scored for Sussex.

Sussex and New Hampshire return to Skylands Park on Saturday for a 5:05 game.
