Philadelphia, PA, February 2, 2004 – The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) announced today that Philadelphia KiXX goalkeeper Peter Pappas and defender Mauricio Vincello have each received League weekly honors for the seven-day period ending February 1. Pappas was named the MISL Goalkeeper of the Week for the fourth time this season, while Vincello was named the League's Defender of the Week for the first time in his career.

Pappas recorded both of the team's victories this past week, a 5-4 win over the Monterrey Fury in Monterrey on January 29 and a 7-3 decision versus the Cleveland Force at the Convocation Center at CSU on January 31. The native of Toronto, Ontario turned away 38 of the 45 shots he faced, including 24 of 27 chances in Cleveland, to post a combined .844 save percentage.

The six-time all-star now ranks second in the MISL in save percentage (0.762), third in victories (12), goals against average (4.48) and saves (259) and fourth in minutes played (1,084). Pappas was also named the League's Goalkeeper of the Week for consecutive weeks to open the 2003-04 campaign (October 5, October 12) and the seven-day period ending January 18.

The eight-year veteran has been named to six all-star squads, four of which he was selected to start, and five all-league teams in his career. Last season, Pappas received Player-of-the-Week honors three times (seven-day periods ending November 3, February 9 and March 23) and Player-of-the-Month honors for his play in the month of November. Overall in his career, the Philadelphia University graduate has received Player-of-the Week honors 15 times, as well as seven Player-of-the-Month honors.

Vincello solidified the Philadelphia defense, recording a combined seven blocks in the club's two contests. The native of Salto, Argentina also tallied three points on three goals, two of which he registered versus the Fury in the second contest of the team's three-game road swing. The 32-year old defender, in his first season with Philadelphia, currently sits second on the club with 26 blocks this season. This is the first League honor for Vincello.

The two-year veteran played with the Toronto Thunderhawks during the 2000-01 National Professional Soccer League (NPSL) campaign, before competing solely with the Toronto Lynx of the outdoor A-League for the past three seasons (2000-2003). Vincello was named the Toronto Lynx Defensive Player of the Year for his play in 2001.
