Panthers Blank Majors
May 22, 2010 - International Basketball League (IBL) News Release
In London, Kitchener centrefielder Jeff Pietraszko?s two-out home run in the first inning was all that the Panthers needed to edge the Majors 1-0 in the one of three Intercounty Baseball League games Friday night.
Ross Davis (1-0) hurled a complete game five-hitter, striking out nine while walking only one in his season debut for the Panthers. Equally impressive was London?s Andy St. Gelais (2-1) who also went the distance, giving up five hits. He walked one and struckout four.
Vince Burke had two hits for the Majors.
With the win, Kitchener evened its record at 3-3 while the Majors are now 2-2 on the season.
