Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release
Kannapolis, NC—The South Atlantic League announced today that RP Oneli Perez and OF Daron Roberts have been selected to represent Kannapolis at the 47th Annual SAL All-Star Game in Eastlake, Ohio. Perez and Roberts were chosen to play for the Southern Division by the league's coaches and general managers.
Perez has been lights out as the Intimidators closer. The 23 year-old native of Caberette, DR owns a 2-1 record with 6 saves in 7 opportunities. Perez boasts a microscopic ERA of 0.59. Perez has uncanny control, with 37 strikeouts to just 5 walks.
Roberts has been one of the leagues most consistent hitters, with a .322 batting average. Before breaking his foot on a foul ball 5/25 vs. West Virginia, Roberts was 2nd in the league in doubles. The White Sox 12th pick in the 2004 FYP Draft has also logged 9 stolen bases in 10 attempts. " It's a tremendous honor to have been selected by opposing coaches as one of the league' s All-Stars," said Roberts, after hearing the news.
The game takes place at Classic Park, home of the Lake County Captains, on June 20th. The game will be broadcasted on the radio and over the internet. Intimidators' broadcaster Landon Sears will be on the call. A link to the broadcast will be provided at Intimidatorsbaseball.com.
