Pair of home games set to wrap up regular season

Rockford, Ill.- This weekend marks the end of the 2005-06 regular season in the United Hockey League and the Rockford IceHogs will conclude its most successful campaign with a pair of home games at the Rockford MetroCentre. To wrap up the '05-06 season, the final edition of Bacon Bits will air on Sunday night at 9 p.m. on FOX 39.

The Hogs will open the last weekend of play against the Flint Generals on Friday night beginning at 7:05 p.m. The first 1,000 fans to the game on Friday will receive IceHogs poster #6 in a series of seven courtesy of Medicine Man, Johnson Press, Jim Orlando Photography, Pepsi and the Rockford Register Star.

On Saturday, the Muskegon Fury return to the MetroCentre to round out the '05-06 season. Before the contest, the IceHogs will announce the 2005-06 season awards at a ceremony on the ice. Awards given out include Team MVP, Rookie of the Year, Fan Favorite and more. Game time is 7:05 p.m. and the IceHogs will also recognize its fans with Fan Appreciation Night. Several fans will walk away with prizes courtesy of the IceHogs and several of its corporate partners.

To get fans ready for the upcoming Colonial Cup Playoffs, this year's final Bacon Bits show will air on Sunday night. The 30-minute magazine-style television show is hosted by WTVO-17 Sports Director Scott Leber and Weekend Sports Anchor Vince Conway.

The popular show will flash back to last weekend's Jersey Auction and take a look into the IceHogs Charitable Foundation and the IceHogs recent Tip-A-Hog event at the 10th Inning Bar and Grill. There will also be a feature on the Ice Girls Dance Team, a father-daughter tandem that keeps track of the shots-on-goal boards at the IceHogs games and the usual Fan Feature segment plus an exclusive interview with the world famous Hammy Hog.
