Chicago Hounds News Release

Hoffman Estates, Ill. (April 13, 2006) -- Chicagoland Sports, LLC is proud to introduce their new United Hockey League (UHL) team, the Chicago Hounds. The Hounds will be playing in the all-new Sears Centre, located in Hoffman Estates, IL. The newest UHL team will begin play in October 2006, with their inaugural home game coming in November at the Sears Centre.

"We are happy to be announcing the Chicago Hounds - UHL Hockey Club as the newest member of the Chicagoland Sports family," said Hounds owner Dr. Eric Margenau. "We are excited to be the first tenant of the new Sears Centre and look forward to a successful inaugural season playing in Hoffman Estates."

The UHL has been in existence for 15 years and is known for their fast pace-hard hitting brand of hockey. The three division league has drawn more than 18 million fans and has 14 clubs located in seven states, each playing a total of 76 (38 home, 38 road) regular season games. Recently, the UHL and B2 Networks have expanded their partnership to provide nearly all UHL games on a pay-per-view internet webcast.

"On behalf of the United Hockey League we want to welcome the Chicago Hounds who will be playing in a state of the art facility; joining their neighbors the Rockford IceHogs, Quad City Mallards, and our other expansion team the Bloomington Prairie Thunder," said UHL President and CEO Richard Brosal. "The geographic footprint of the United Hockey League continues to bring in quality ownership and state of the art facilities."

The Sears Centre is an 11,000-seat (9,500 seats for hockey) state of the art multi-purpose family entertainment, sports and cultural center under construction in Hoffman Estates' Prairie Stone Business Park. Located right at I-90 and Route 59, it will host more than 135 events each year, and is projected to attract more than 750,000 annual visitors.

"This is an exciting day for the Sears Centre and the businesses and families in Western Chicago," stated Sears Centre Executive Director Steve Hyman. "Affordable family entertainment is what we are about. The UHL is a quality league and Dr. Margenau runs an excellent ship."
