Everett Hawks News Release

EVERETT - The AFL's New Orleans VooDoo will open the 2007 regular season with a pair of former Everett Hawks on their roster - OL/DL Chris Ekwueme and OL/DL Antonio Narcisse. Narcisse is in the mix to see significant time on the line, while Ekwueme has been assigned to the VooDoo practice squad.

Ekuweme (6-1, 298) is an af2 veteran, having played in parts of three seasons. Last season, he appeared in two games with the Hawks, racking up a tackle in the process. He spent the bulk of his af2 career with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers, playing in 28 games during the 2004 and 2005 seasons and collecting 39.5 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and four sacks. Ekuweme was a standout and four-year starter on the offensive line at Bryant University, a Division II school in Rhode Island, and was selected to the All-East Coast Athletic Conference First Team in 1999 and 2002.

Narcisse (6-1, 316), a rookie out of Portland State, will be making his Arena Football debut with the VooDoo after initially being assigned to the Hawks earlier this season by the af2 league office. Narcisse was a key contributor for the Vikings, as he was named to the 2004 All-Big Sky Conference First Team in 2004 as a junior and the conference's honorable mention team in 2005. In 2005, he was also named as a preseason Sports Network and Street and Smith's All-American.

"I think they'll both do really well," said Hawks' Head Coach Cedric Walker of the duo. "Chris was probably the best center in the af2 last year. Antonio is the first lineman I brought on (this off-season). He's got great feet. They both have a nasty to them, play the game hard and are both hungry. They're always trying to learn and they are great character guys."

Everett Hawks season tickets are on sale now! Seats for the 2007 season start as low as $40 and can be purchased by calling 425.252.4874. Don't miss the Hawks home opener on Sunday, May 6th, when they take on the Central Valley Coyotes at 3 p.m. at the Everett Events Center!
