PaddleHeads Attack Held in Check in Loss to Voyagers
August 6, 2022 - Pioneer League (PL)
Missoula PaddleHeads News Release
Great Falls, MT- Offensive success played a big role in action to start the week between the Great Falls Voyagers, and Missoula PaddleHeads. In 3 games played in the Garden City, 53 runs combined were put on the board by the Voyagers, and PaddleHeads. Things would play out much differently in action Friday night however at Centene Stadium in Great Falls on a breezy evening. Both offenses would be held off the board for the first 3 frames. 4 runs combined would be put on the board when the dust settled as neither team managed to put much of anything together. However, the runs scratched across by the Voyagers would prove to be enough for Tyler Naumann who would pitch a beauty.
The Voyagers managed to tally 3 runs in the fourth, and fifth innings to take a 3-0 lead. That would be more than enough for the southpaw Naumann who would pitch a complete game gem allowing only 1 unearned run in a 3-1 defeat. This marked the first time this season an opposing pitcher has gone the distance opposite the PaddleHeads. Furthermore, Naumann became the first Great Falls pitcher to pitch a complete game this season.
