San Rafael Pacifics News Release
VALEJO, Calif. - Right-hander Tyler Pearson threw seven quality innings, striking out 10 and allowing just two runs as the San Rafael Pacifics beat the Vallejo Admirals, 6-2, on Wednesday night at Wilson Park.
After allowing two runs to score in the first - one coming on a Garrett Barnett home run - Pearson settled in to let his offense back him up.
San Rafael (13-4) tied the game up at two in the third, on back-to-back RBI hits by Johnny Woodard (1-for-4, RBI) and Kyle Dhanani. Dhanani (2-for-4, 2 RBI, run) homered in the fifth, his team-leading fourth of the season. In the seventh, the Pacifics score three more times when Chase Fontaine's comebacker hit off the pitcher and trickled into right, allowing two runs to score. Catcher Matt Kavanaugh (1-for-4) followed with a run-scoring double to right.
Right-hander J.J. Whetsel struck out two in his perfect eighth inning, and closer Colin Allen pitched a clean ninth in a non-save situation.
