Jets Shot Down on the Tarmac

The North Iowa Outlaws avenged a game five loss from last season in a big way on Thursday night, gunning down the Fargo Moorhead Jets behind three assist from former Jet Brooks DeZellar. Joe Harcharik added a pair of goals, Travis Peckskamp added his third in two games, and Robby Moss turned aside 23 of 23 for his second shutout of the season. The Outlaws took control from the start, scoring 2:17 seconds into the game and never looked back, scoring three in the first, and adding one in the second and third to pull away from the Central Division foes in the standings.

Travis Peckskamp got the Outlaws on the board, scoring 2:17 into the game for his third goal in two games. The rookie who picked up his first and second career goals last weekend found a rebound on a Brooks DeZellar shot and put it passed the Jets netminder for the goal. Minutes later it was 2-0 as Alex Carlson went crashing into the Jets net, seconds after he buried the puck giving North Iowa control. Later it was DeZellar again, this time assisting on a Joe Harcharik strike. The former Jet DeZellar fought off three Jets at the blueline, and found Harcharik cutting in front of the net, who took the pass and pulled it around Joe Dawson and slide it to the net.

In the second, Harcharik struck for his second of the night, firing a shot from the point that took a weird bounce and found the back of the net to make it 4-0. In a last ditch effort, the Jets pulled their goalie with over three minutes left in the third and the Outlaws made them pay. With a 6-4 advantage for the Jets, DeZellar battled the puck loose on the wall and Ross Ring- Jarvi fired it the length of the ice into the open net to make the final 5-0. Robby Moss picked up his ninth win of the season and second shutout on the year.

Friday night needed two headlines to tell the story on Friday night as the Outlaws downed the Jets 3-0 at the Carlson Coliseum in Fargo, ND; Moss Shutdowns Jets, Polish Power Prevails in 3-0 win. That was the story of the night in Fargo as the Outlaws left the goose egg from the night before on the scoreboard. Krystian Dziubinski figured in on every goal, and Moss shutout the Jets for the second night in a row.

The Outlaws "Raised the Polish" flag in the first two periods as the Outlaws Krystian Dziubinski scored twice, once each period to give North Iowa a 2-0 lead through two periods of play. In the first, Dziubinski score with the man advantage, as North Iowa's power play struck for the first time on the weekend. In the second, Dziubinski scored his second in similar fashion, walking off the wall and firing a puck passed Elliot Okland for the 2-0 lead as the Outlaws continued to play strong without much of a threat from the Jets.

In the third, Shea Walters forced a turnover and picked up his second assist of the night as he found Max Mobley in front who beat Okland glove side for the 3-0 lead. Dziubinski also added the assist for his third point of the night. Down the stretch the Jets started to push, but the Outlaws defense held strong in front of another outstanding performance from Robby Moss, who picked up his second shutout in as many nights and third on the season.

North Iowa has next weekend off before returning to Fargo the following weekend for another pair vs the Jets. North Iowa returns home on Nov. 23 as they celebrate homecoming. The Outlaws will wear special jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game. Fans can win prizes for wearing their western wear, sponsored by the Best Western.
