What a way to start!! Your North Iowa Outlaws are off to one of the best starts in franchise history. After spending last season in the cellar for the majority of the year, Coach Dave Boitz and Jeff Crouse have something special happening at the arena as the Outlaws sit in 1st Place two weeks into the season.

Meet the Outlaws
Here's your chance to come meet the 2007-08 North Iowa Outlaws at the Holiday Inn in Mason City, Thursday Oct 4th from 6-8 PM. North Iowa's Most Wanted are off to a hot start in the regular season, and want you to join them at this event and help raise money for "Give Kids the World" Children's Charities. The Outlaws will be on hand to sign autographs, and talk with fans. A silent Auction will be held during the event to raise money for "Give Kids the World," and Outlaws Merchandise will be available to purchase at the event.
Give Kids The World Village (GKTW) is a 70-acre, non- profit resort in Central Florida that creates magical memories for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. GKTW provides accommodations at its whimsical resort, donated attractions tickets, meals and more for a week-long, cost-free fantasy vacation. With the help of many generous individuals, corporations and partnering wish-granting organizations, Give Kids The World has welcomed more than 75,000 families from all 50 states and over 50 countries.

Brown Bears Swept Aside: Outlaws in 1st Place
The North Iowa Outlaws opened their home schedule this past weekend in style, stopping the Kenai River Brown Bears dead in their tracks. The Outlaws made easy work of the Brown Bears, 6-1 and 5-1 respectively, and got some help to move into a first place tie with the Springfield Jr. Blues.
A week after the ice was put down at the North Iowa Ice Arena, the North Iowa Outlaws showed the fans what they could do, stopping the Brown Bears from Kenai River in their tracks. The Outlaws were led by Shea Walters and Bryant Skarda in goals with two a piece but Tyler Romasco who assisted on four of the six tallies in a 6-1 victory. Robby Moss was equally impressive in net, stopping 31 of 32 shots in the victory.
North Iowa brought the crowd to their feet with a early goal nine minutes into the game when Shea Walters struck for one of his two tallies on the night. Minutes later Bryant Skarda got his first of the game, striking on the power play to put North Iowa up 2-0 at the end of the first.
Much of the same in the second as North Iowa's Ross Ring-Jarvi scored in the second minute of the period to make it 3-0 as the Outlaws continued to charge. Midway through the period, Krystian Dzuibinski fired home a shot to give North Iowa a commanding 4-0 lead. Minutes later it was 5-0 as Skarda tallied his second of the night, and Moss continued to pitch the shutout. Kenai however erased the zero on the board, scoring in the final two minutes of the second period to make it 5-1. The Outlaws responded in the third, finishing off the Brown Bears with his second score of the night to finish off the scoring as North Iowa pounded to a 6-1 victory.
The North Iowa Outlaws pull out the brooms at the North Iowa Ice Arena on Saturday night, finishing off the weekend sweep of the Kenai River Brown Bears and moved atop the Central Division Standings. The Outlaws led by another high scoring effort from Bryant Skarda who knocked home 2 power plays goals and added two assist in the victory. Shea Walters recorded another multi point game, finishing with a goal a two assists. Tyler Romasco also picked up two points in an Outlaws 5-1 victory in front of Mason City's Austin Maginnis who turned aside 21 of 22 shots.
Kenai jumped out to an early lead, scoring 2:01 seconds into the game but that was all for the Brown Bears offense. Less then a minute later, Bryant Skarda scored on the power play to tie the game and head to the locker room knotted at one.
In the second, Joe Harcharik scored the eventual game winner, with Max Mobley and Kyrstian Dzuibinski tallying assists. Half way through the period, North Iowa broke the game wide open when Shea Walters scored his third goal of the weekend with Skarda and Romasco adding the help. Then Romasco got in on the scoring with some help from Skarda and Walter, both picking up their second assists on the night.
Finishing off the scoring was Skarda in the third period, with another power play tally with Brandon Larson and Kyle Politz assisting. On the blue line the Outlaws defense was strong in front of Austin Maginnis who turned aside 21 of 22 shots in his second game of the season. The Mason City native picked up his first win on the season and junior career. The Outlaws continue play next weekend with a series against the Fairbanks Ice Dogs at the North Iowa Ice Arena on Friday and Saturday night at 7:30 pm.
Fairbanks to be a Tough Test
The North Iowa Outlaws will have their hands full as they face the South Division leaders from Fairbanks, AK. Like the Outlaws, the Ice Dogs are off to a great start in the 2007-08 season, charging to the top of the South Division and doing it with some big victories.
Fairbanks was victorious in their showcase game against Team USA U-18 and won big on Friday night in Bismarck. The Ice Dogs knocked off the Bobcats 7- 1 Friday before having a battle and winning 3-2 on Saturday night. North Iowa went 2-2-1 against Fairbanks last season, including two big wins down the stretch to make the playoffs.
North Iowa and Fairbanks face off at 7:30 PM Friday and Saturday Night.
