(Fargo, ND) The Springfield Jr. Blues makes their first ever trip to Fargo on Friday and Saturday night to take on the F-M Jets.
The Jr. Blues and Jets have never met and play in the same division, so these games may become important down the stretch. As another meeting will take place in Springfield, IL in March with implications possibly on the line. It's too early to tell but not to early to throw it out the window.
The Jr. Blues are led by D Darren Rowe (Simi Valley, CA) with eight points (3G, 5A), F Matt Globke (West Bloomfield, MI) with seven points (2G, 5A) and G Ales Sila (Ljubljana, Slovenia) in net at 2-0-1, 2.27 GAA and .927 SV%.
There's nothing flashy about this squad as they play great team defense including solid tending from Sila and Phil Cook (Wheaton, IL). Expect a very physical game along the boards and in the zones.
Once again special teams will play an important role for either side. The Jets are second in the NAHL on the power-play at 24% and 90% on the kill. While the Jr. Blues carry 13% on the man advantage and 83% on the kill.
The Jets will welcome the Jr. Blues with a 7:35pm face off on Friday and 7:05pm affair on Saturday at the John E. Carlson Coliseum.
