WAYNE, NJ - The New Jersey Outlaws have clinched a playoff berth in the Federal Hockey League's Commissioner Cup Playoffs by virtue of the Danville Dashers' loss to the Akwesasne Warriors last night, by a score of 4-3. The inaugural season has seen the Outlaws storm out to a league best 26-2-0-3 record and 82 points with 21 games left to be played. It is a rarity to see an expansion team make the playoffs in their first season, but the Outlaws have done it by dominating the league and their hard work has earned them the first playoff spot this season in the FHL.
The Outlaws are a team that has all of the tools to bring a championship home. Currently, 3 Outlaws sit in the top-10 in scoring in the FHL. Forward Kevin Cooper leads the team with 60 points, with 26 goals and 34 assists along with a plus 40 rating. Captain Travis Kauffeldt has 57 points and a plus 33 rating. Forward Matt Puntureri is also in the top 10 with 46 points and a plus 21 rating.
Along with their league leading 176 total goals scored, the Outlaws have a dominant goaltending duo who rank number one and two in the league. "Backup" goaltender Adam Dekker has a 13-1 record with 3 shutouts and a league leading 2.43 goals against average. Dan McWhinney is the slightest of margins behind Dekker for tops in the league with a 15-2 record with a 2.46 goals against average.

The Outlaws next home game is this Saturday, January 21st at 7:35pm as they face the rival Danbury Whalers for the final time this regular season.
