
Outdoor Classic Alumni Officials Announced

HAMILTON, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Club today announced the officials for the 2012 PepsiCo AHL Outdoor Classic Alumni / Celebrity Game. Hockey Night in Canada host Ron MacLean will join retired National Hockey League officials Ray Scapinello and Ron Hoggarth on the ice at Ivor Wynne Stadium at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, January, 20th, 2012.
MacLean, who is a former Level 5 referee for the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association, is best known as Don Cherry's straight man on CBC's Coaches Corner. Scapinello retired from the NHL in 2004 after officiating 2,500 regular season games, 426 playoff games, and 20 Stanley Cup Finals in his career. Hoggarth spent 23 years in the NHL, officiating 1,173 regular-season games, 139 Stanley Cup playoff games, and three All-Star games.
The officials will be keeping a watchful eye on a star-packed alumni roster, which includes the three "Lace Up With Hockey's Greats!" auction winners. Mike Widerman from Stoney Creek, Ontario, and Dan Skeaff from Brighton, Ontario will be suiting up with the Toronto Maple Leafs Alumni, while Jamie Porteous will be celebrating his birthday by playing on the Montreal Canadiens Alumni team with Hamilton Bulldogs owner and chairman Michael Andlauer.
Other late additions to the Alumni lineup include Gilles Thibaudeau, who will be taking Gaston Gingras' spot on the Montreal roster, as well as Georges Laraque and Jocelyn Lemieux. Shayne Corson will be joining the Toronto roster.
Tickets for the 2012 AHL Outdoor Classic, which include admission to the 2012 PepsiCo AHL Outdoor Classic Alumni / Celebrity Game featuring Toronto Maple Leafs Alumni and Montreal Canadiens Alumni on Friday, January 20th, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. and the 2012 "Steeltown Showdown" between the Hamilton Bulldogs and the Toronto Marlies on Saturday, January 21st, 2012 at 1 p.m., are still available. Bronze tickets are as low as $29.50 and offer an intimate experience, while Platinum tickets offer the best vantage points.
