Erie Otters News Release
BELLEVILLE, Ont. - Tyler Donati collected six assists to lead the Belleville Bulls to a 6-3 win over the Erie Otters in an Ontario Hockey League game played tonight in front of 2,770 at the Yardmen Arena. Shawn Matthias scored twice for the Bulls, who scored five of their six goals on the power play. Matt Pelech, Bryan Cameron, Shawn Lalonde and Andrew Gibbons also scored for the Bulls while P.K. Subban collected three assists. Justin Hodgman paced the Otters with a goal and an assist. Anthony Peluso and Josh Kidd scored the other Erie goals. The Otters dropped to 9-26-0-2 with the loss while Belleville improved to 20-14-0-2. The two teams were tied at two after one. Belleville carried a 4-3 lead into the third. Jonathan Laniel started for the Otters and stopped 20 out of 24 shots before being ejected from the game after fighting his Belleville counterpart Kevin Lalande late in the second period. Ryan Ludzik came off the bench in relief and allowed two goals on eight shots. The Otters out shot the Bulls 34-32 in the game. The three stars of the game were all from the Bulls. Donati was the first, Matthias the second and Subban the third.
The Otters complete their eastern Ontario road trip Monday afternoon when they travel to Kingston to face the Frontenacs in a 2 p.m. start. The game can be heard live on 1330 Erie's ESPN Radio on line at www.ottershockey.com (presented by the James H. Cross Company) beginning with the pre-game show at 1:45 p.m. The next Otters home game takes place Saturday, January 6th when the Sarnia Sting visit the Tullio Arena in a 7:30 p.m. start presented by Cellular One.
