EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Evansville Otters officially kicked off the 2018 season Saturday at Bosse Field with Fan Fest to help get fans excited about the upcoming baseball season.

Activities for all ages were organized by the Otters' staff including a kids' zone and inflatables, batting practice and stadium tours.

Stadium tours featured a walk through Bosse Field featuring facts and stories about Bosse Field's and the Otters' proud history.

Fans were able to get on the field and take batting practice with Otters' players.

Attendees were also able to get the first opportunity to buy new items and team apparel in the gift shop as well as a chance to enter and win prize packages.

Saturday was also the first opportunity to sample a new, upgraded concession menu for the 2018 season at Bosse Field.

The Otters want to thank Walgreen's and all the fans for their part in making Fan Fest a success and are looking forward to having fans join the affordable, family fun this season at historic Bosse Field.

The Otters will begin exhibition Wednesday against the Florence Freedom at 11 a.m. for Education Day.

Schools are invited to register and come enjoy a day at the ballpark. For more information on Education Day, visit evansvilleotters.com or call 812-435-8686.

On Friday, May 4, the Otters will host the annual Jacob's Village benefit game at 6:35 p.m.

The mission of Jacob's Village is to develop a safe, walk-able neighborhood community where people with disabilities and older adults can find meaningful relationships, housing that is affordable and accessible, and activities that encourage active minds and bodies.

As a part of the benefit, the Otters will host a "Diamond Dash" sponsored by Tracy Zeller Jewelry. The dash will give every woman over the age of 18 an opportunity to go onto the field to a player, but only a selected 25 tickets will have the chance during the game to dash for a $1,000 Tracy Zeller Jewelry shopping spree.

The game will also include free popcorn (while supplies last), door prizes, clowns and more.

Tickets for this year's game may be purchased at all G.D. Ritzy's locations, Bosse Field and Jacob's Village beginning Friday. The Bosse Field box office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Opening Weekend is May 11-13 when the Otters open the regular season at Bosse Field against the Washington Wild Things, featuring Opening Night on Friday, Vanderburgh County's "Bicentennial Night at the Otters" on Saturday, and the first Family Fun Day on Sunday.
