Trading places
It's been just over a week since the OHL Trade Deadline. The newest 67's have already made an impact with John McFarland scoring 3 points in 4 games and Mike Cazzola notching 5 points in 2 games.
Oshawa was busy last week and will be a very different team as they make a push for the playoffs. Matt Petgrave and fellow blueliner Geoffrey Schemitsch came over from defending the OHL champion Owen Sound Attack. Oshawa also picked up Julian Melchiori from the Kitchener Rangers.
Local Boys playing for the Generals
Scott Sabourin and Daniel Altshuller will have a few friendly faces in a hostile crowd on Friday night. Both players hail from Ottawa. This is Altshuller's first year in the OHL after spending the last 2 years in Junior A with the Nepean Raiders, the team that 67's bench boss Chris Byrne won championships with in 2003 and 2004. Sabourin has spent the last 2 years with the Generals and spent time in Junior A with Kanata and Brockville before that.

Game Notes:
Rangers to watch
The Rangers have a few players that fans will want to keep an eye on. Offensive defenseman and first round NHL pick Ryan Murphy has 18 points in 24 games.
1st round import draft pick Radek Faksa leads all rookies in scoring with 37 points in 34 games for the Rangers this year.
Goalie John Gibson is a 2nd round pick of the Anaheim Ducks.
Rangers happy with Team
The Rangers were very quiet at an OHL deadline that saw 25 trades. They sent Julian Melchiori to Oshawa for a couple of draft picks and that's it.
Local Ranger
The only Kitchener player from our area is Brandon Lesway. The 210 pounder from Kemptville made the storied franchise as a free agent last year.
