Orlando Pride News Release
ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Pride has acquired goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse via a transfer from French D1 Féminine side Bordeaux, it was announced today. Moorhouse has signed a two-year deal, with Allocation Money used in the transfer, and will join the Pride pending receipt of a P-1 visa and ITC.
"Anna is a player who we believe will bring us additional stability and flexibility in our goalkeeping options. She is a natural shot-stopper, comfortable with the ball at her feet when called upon, and her physical profile is an asset at her position," Orlando Pride General Manager Ian Fleming said. "Anna's best is still ahead of her, and we're excited that it will be as a member of the Pride."
Moorhouse, 26, spent two seasons with Bordeaux, appearing 28 times in that span, all of which were starts. Prior to that she spent two seasons at West Ham United, making a run to the FA Cup Final through the 2018-19 campaign.
Following a youth career at Manchester United, Moorhouse began her professional career at Everton, but did not appear. The Oldham, England-native went on to debut at FA Women's Championship side Durham in 2014 and enjoyed stints at Doncaster Rovers Belles and Arsenal prior to her time at West Ham.
The Pride begin their 2022 preseason at the Orlando Heath Training Ground at Sylvan Lake Park on February 1, with the NWSL Challenge Cup beginning play the weekend of March 19. More information on the 2022 regular season will be announced at a later date. Season ticket memberships are currently available at Orlando-Pride.com or by calling 855-ORL-CITY.
