Orlando Predators News Release
ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Predators are pleased to announce their final roster in anticipation for their season opener on the road against the New Orleans VooDoo, next Friday, March 18. The Preds coaching staff made cuts today in order to bring the team to its current 24-man active roster as mandated by the Arena Football League.
"We've had an extremely competitive camp, and I'm excited about where we stand as a team right now," said Head Coach Pat O'Hara. "We've got a lot of veterans returning and we've added some new talent as well, I'm really pleased with our roster."
Returning to lead the offense is quarterback Nick Hill (6'3, 215, Southern Illinois) who shattered the offensive record books in his rookie season, setting regular season records for pass completions in a game (36) and season (379), passing yards in a game (393) and season (4,289) and happened to also finish second in total rushing in the AFL last season, and first among quarterbacks (284). The Preds also boast a dynamic and talented receiving corps featuring returnees T.T. Toliver (6'0, 185, Bethune-Cookman), Josh Bush (5'9, 165, Western Michigan) and Robert Quiroga (6'2, 210, Baylor) along with new additions Chris Duvalt (5'11, 175, Illinois) and former University of Central Florida standout Doug Gabriel (6'3, 215, Central Florida). Bobby Sippio (6'3, 215, Western Kentucky) who joined the team midway through the 2010 season, will return for the first home game of the season, following a one-game league suspension.
Two returning 2010 All-Arena First Team recipients, defensive back Rayshaun Kizer (5'10, 192, Walsh) who in his AFL rookie season set a new team record for interceptions (13) and AFL veteran defensive back Kenny McEntyre (5'10, 180, Kansas State) who is returning for his 13 season will lead the Predators on the defensive side.
