Orlando Titans News Release

Denver, CO-- Matt Vinc stopped 36 of 41 shots and the Orlando Titans got three goals each from Casey Powell and Ryan Boyle on their way to a 12-5 over the Colorado Mammoth.

The win pushed the Titans to 3-1 on the young season, while Colorado fell to 2-4.

The Titans dominated for most of the game as Orlando built a 12-2 lead. Only in the final minutes of the game when Colorado pulled their goalie to created a 6 on 5 situation did the Mammoth find any success against Vinc.

"Vino (Vinc) was sensational tonight," Titans Head Coach Ed Comeau said. "This is one of the toughest venues in the country and we came in tonight, took control of the game and made it our building."

Comeau, who coached three years at Rochester and one with the New York Titans won for the first time in Denver.

Orlando dominated the first half as Vinc stopped 19 of 21 shots. Veteran Pat Maddalena got Orlando on the board first - scoring his 300th career goal at the 12:08 mark of the first.

Mike McLellan and Casy Powell added first quarter goals to make it 3-0, causing Colorado head coach Steve Govett to pull goalie Andrew Leyshon. The game settled down for the rest of the period, but Orlando added a pair of power play goals by Casey Powell and Ryan Boyle to take a 6-2 lead into the locker room.

The Titans were scheduled to play in Philadelphia on Saturday, but a winter snowstorm forced postponement of that game. Instead the Titans will return to action on Feb. 20 at Amway Arena against the Boston Blazers.
