Orlando City SC News Release

ORLANDO - July 30, 2014 - With a win over the Charlotte Eagles (7-11-3, 24 points) on Saturday, Orlando City SC (14-1-4, 46 points) will clinch a playoff berth for the fourth consecutive year. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EST at ESPN Wide World of Sports (WWOS).

Great seats are still available and can be purchased by visiting www.OrlandoCitySC.com or by calling 855-ORL-CITY. The match will also be live-streamed via YouTube.com/OrlandoCitySC.

Orlando and Charlotte previously matched up at ESPN WWOS in May, resulting in a 3-1 score-line in City's favor. Kevin Molino provided all three goals for the Lions, scoring his first professional hat-trick. Current Orlando City Striker Giuseppe Gentile scored the lone goal for Charlotte with ten minutes remaining in the match. Gentile signed with Orlando earlier this month.

Despite coming away with a draw and a loss on its recent two-game road trip, OCSC returns home, which has become a fortress for the Lions over the years. Since falling to Pittsburgh 1-0 on August 3, 2013, Orlando has maintained a 15-game unbeaten run at home in league play, producing 14 wins and just one draw.

However, City will be without two of its key starters on Saturday. Darwin Ceren and Luke Boden are both serving a one-game suspension for picking up their fifth yellow cards of the season. A mainstay in the Orlando City backline for the past three seasons, Boden has logged the most amount of minutes for the Lions so far in 2014 with 1,695. Ceren, the Club's third MLS signing, is also in the top five for minutes played, recording 1,457 in the crucial defensive midfielder role.

Sitting in 9th place, the Eagles are currently riding a two-game winning streak, securing victories against the Dayton Dutch Lions and Wilmington Hammerheads. In Charlotte's 2-0 win over the Hammerheads, Jorge Herrera recorded his team-leading sixth goal while Drew Yates notched his seventh assist on the campaign, tying Molino for first place in USL PRO. Charlotte are level on points with the Orange County Blues for the final playoff position, but the California based-club has the advantage with one less game played.
