IRVINE, Calif. - Orange County SC has agreed terms with goalkeeper and Orange County native, Carlos López Cortéz
"Carlos has worked tremendously hard this preseason and has earned this opportunity and contract," said OCSC Head Coach, Braeden Cloutier. "He's another young Goalkeeper along with Aaron and I'm very excited to work with him and watch his development."
López, from Santa Ana, CA, returns to the United States and Orange County for the 2019 season. López has spent the last six years with the Mexican 1st division Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente.
"After playing all my professional career in Mexico it is very compelling to return home to continue my professional career with OCSC in the USL Championship," said López. "I'm very excited about what OCSC has acomplished and I'm looking forward to the 2019 season."
López, 22, was born in Santa Ana and currently lives in Corona, CA. He left Orange County prior to high school to sign a professional contract with Tijuana.
"We are excited to add Carlos, a very promising and talented Goalkeeper to our team," said OCSC General Manager, Oliver Wyss. "Carlos was recommended to us through our relationship with Tijuana Xolos and we are looking forward to bringing him back home to Orange County."
Per club policy, terms of player contracts with Orange County SC will not be released.
