April 4, 2018 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Orange County SC News Release
IRVINE, Calif. - With a shared commitment to provide community outreach for local youth and coaches, Orange County Soccer Club and American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) Section 11 announce the formation of the new community partnership. The foundation of the affiliation is to provide opportunities for local AYSO coaches to receive elite coaching education through Orange County SC's Technical Director Frans Hoek and Head Coach Braeden Cloutier. Currently joining the Saudi Arabia coaching staff in the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Hoek's coaching career spans over 30 years across such elite teams as AFC Ajax, FC Barcelona, FC Bayern Munich, Manchester United FC and the Dutch national team.
"Orange County Soccer Club recognizes a responsibility to help develop soccer at all levels within our community," said Orange County SC General Manager & Executive Vice President, Oliver Wyss. "We are excited about a partnership with AYSO that will use our world-class coaching resources to provide ongoing training for AYSO coaches, and provide a great soccer experience for more kids and adults in Orange County."
The partnership provides the opportunity for youth soccer players and coaches of AYSO Section 11 to attend Orange County SC professional soccer matches. AYSO coaches will receive a debrief of the matches and will be provided with tools they can apply when coaching AYSO youth soccer players.
"AYSO Section 11 is grateful for the opportunity to partner with Orange County Soccer Club," said AYSO Section Director for Section 11, Audrey Castreje. "We continually look for ways to help kids have more fun playing the great game of soccer. A big part of that is AYSO's commitment to improve the coaching we offer and tapping into the knowledge and experience of the OCSC coaching staff is a step towards our ultimate goal. Being able to help OCSC bring local professional soccer to our AYSO families is a benefit for all soccer in Orange County."
Orange County SC hosts LA Galaxy II in the first installment of the 405 Derby on Saturday, April 7th at 7:00 PM at Championship Soccer Stadium at the Orange County Great Park. Tickets for Saturday's match are available online at orangecountysoccer.com of by phone at (949) 647-GOAL.
