April 4, 2018 - United Soccer League Championship (USL) News Release
TAMPA, Fla. - The United Soccer Leagues, LLC, announced today it had entered a multi-year partnership with Helogoal, establishing the world-renowned manufacturer as the Official Goal, Shelter and Mobile Arena Supplier for all related properties, including the United Soccer League, USL's Division III, the Premier Development League (PDL) and the Super Y League. The partnership extends the growth of the organization's Preferred Supplier Program, which over the past six months has broadened to include leading businesses across a broad spectrum of professional league services.
Helogoal brings more than 40 years of experience manufacturing goals in Germany and is Europe's leading manufacturer of aluminum sporting equipment. Helogoal's goals, shelters and mobile arenas for fan zone activation experiences have been used at both the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA European Championships along with numerous top European leagues, making the organization a leader in its field around the world.
"We are delighted to welcome Helogoal as our Official Goal and Shelter Supplier," said USL CEO Alec Papadakis. "We continually strive to raise the bar for our leagues and through this partnership our teams will have access to the very best field equipment available. Helogoal's long history in the sport and their experience with the FIFA World Cup and UEFA European Championships are a testament to the quality of their products. We look forward to helping Helogoal expand their presence in North America."
"Partnering with USL is a great opportunity as we both are in a growth phase in the American soccer landscape," said Helogoal, Inc. CEO, J. B. Belzer. "Our goal, bench shelter, and Mobile Arena products provide USL, Division III, PDL, and SYL clubs with turn-key solutions for training fields as well as match day venues that will enhance the fan experience. We are excited to participate with United Soccer Leagues in the growth of soccer at all levels in the United States."
The USL will oversee the expansion of an estimated 30-40 new franchises at the second and third divisions of professional soccer over the next five years, which will create opportunities for potential suppliers and vendors to support this growth.
Through its Preferred Supplier Program, the USL connects suppliers with new franchise owners and existing USL clubs in order to deliver the best possible experience for fans across North America. Preferred suppliers are "Best in Class" companies that provide services and products to professional franchises and stadium developers and must meet the USL's strict quality standards. The USL is currently in discussions with suppliers that support stadium development, as well as the buildout of team front offices and operations.
