IRVINE, Calif. (May 18, 2015) - Defender Jefrey Payeras joins Orange County Blues FC on loan for the 2015 USL season.

Payeras comes from Club Social y Deportivo Municipal from La Liga Nacional, the top tier soccer league in Guatemala. Before signing with "Los Rojos" in 2013, he was with LA Galaxy Academy and played one year with Cerritos College.

The Hawthorne, Calif. native also made appearances for the U.S. U20 national team including participating in the Torneo Esperanzas de Toulon in 2013. The defender was first noticed by Blues staff when he appeared for the team in the international friendly against C.D. Atletico Marte last November, scoring a goal for the Blues in Orange County's 4-2 win over the Salvadoran team.

"I am excited to be a part of the team and improve my game. I will work hard to do the best I can for myself and the team and contribute to the team's success," commented Payeras.

Next up, Orange County hosts Seattle Sounders FC 2 on Saturday, May 30th, with kickoff scheduled for 7PM.
