Opening Night to Feature $5 Kids Tickets, and Fighting Saints Fan Fest

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The 2018-2019 Dubuque Fighting Saints season is set to open with pizzazz! The Fighting Saints will celebrate Opening Night, presented by American Trust, at Our House on Saturday, October 6 against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders at 7:05 p.m.
New for this season, Opening Night will be a celebration for families and hockey fans alike throughout the tri-state area. For Opening Night only, kids' tickets (ages 4-12) start at just $5! Single game tickets will go on sale on Wednesday, August 29 at 10:00 a.m.
"We are ready for hockey to be back in Dubuque, and we have gone all out to make Opening Night an unforgettable experience to kick off the season," said Nick Shane, the President of Business Operations. "The addition of the Fighting Saints Fan Fest before the game, the added value for families with kids' tickets starting at just $5, and a great hockey game between two rivals will make this a night to remember!"
The Fighting Saints Fan Fest is set to create a family-friendly atmosphere before the game, and to get all of the fans revved up and ready to go upon entry to take in a matchup between two natural and geographical rivals that have been USHL powerhouses for years. The festivities begin at 4:00 p.m., and include appearances from the team, coaching staff, a beer garden, and interactive activities.
Last season, the Fighting Saints clinched a spot in the Clark Cup playoffs, and won a playoff round, for the eighth consecutive season. Under first-year head coach Oliver David, the team finished with a record of 26-21-13, and the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference.
Cedar Rapids made a furious push for a playoff spot at the end of the 2017-18 season, but finished a point just shy of the cutoff. Head coach Mark Carlson has made the Riders a force in the Eastern Conference in his 18 prior seasons behind the bench.
