
Open Player Tryouts Set For 66ers

Tulsa, Okla., October 17, 2008 - The Tulsa 66ers announced today that the team will host an open player tryout on Saturday, Oct. 25 at Bixby High School, located at 601 S. Riverview Dr. in Bixby. All participants will compete during two sessions of the tryout, from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. and from 2 p.m.-5 p.m.
The open tryout will offer athletes an opportunity to showcase their talents in front of the 66ers basketball operations and coaching staffs. Players will compete to earn an invitation to the 66ers' official Training Camp, which is scheduled to begin November 14. At least one roster spot in training camp will be guaranteed to the best player at the open tryout, pending league approval.
"These tryouts offer a unique opportunity for players to get noticed," 66ers Head Coach Paul Woolpert said. "We look forward to working with the players that attend."
Applicants must be eligible to play in the NBA Development League and may pre-register by submitting the official registration, disclosure, and release forms, along with a $125 fee. All forms are available at www.tulsa66ers.com or at the 66ers office, located at 8516 E. 101st St., Suite D in Tulsa. Payments may be made by cash, cashier's check or credit card.
Any questions regarding the camp can be addressed by calling the 66ers office at 918-545-8444. Players will have the option to receive a special discount at a preferred hotel during their stay.
