Toledo Royal Knights News Release
Toledo, OH. The Toledo Ice would like to thank its players, staff, sponsors and fans for all their support in the Ice's inaugural season. The Ice finished third in the ABA's Freddie Lewis Division and made it to the second round of the playoffs after hosting a thrilling victory in the first round over the Detroit Wheels.
The Ice made great strides on and off the court this year through various community functions. With the help of its sponsors, the Ice were able to raise money for the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund and have some fun at the same time with 18 holes of fun-filled golf. The Ice also brough smiles to the communities biggest resource, the children, through programs such as Rebound for Reading, free youth camps and clinics, and waking Santa Claus to help jumpstart last year's Holiday Season. In continuing with the holidays, the Ice also adopted a family for Christmas.
In closing, the Toledo Ice would like to thank The City of Toledo, the Toledo Ice players, staff, sponsors and fans for being part of its inauguaral season and look forward to bringing more exciting basketball in the 2006-12007 season.
